Backup and recovery
A backup that has never been restored is not a backup, it is an assumption. We set up automatic copies, verify they are running and run periodic restore tests to know they work before you need them.
What the service includes
- Automated local and cloud backup
- Daily verification that the copy ran
- Periodic real-restore tests
- Retention by regulation and need
- Continuity and disaster recovery plan
- Restore of individual files or full systems
What you gain from it
The 3-2-1 rule
Three copies, on two different media, one off site. The standard that survives a fire or a theft.
Tested, not assumed
We run test restores periodically. It is the only way to know the backup works.
Defense against ransomware
Immutable copies that ransomware cannot encrypt. That is what turns an attack into a setback.
Questions about backup
How often is the backup run?
It depends on how much data you can afford to lose. The usual is a daily backup, and for critical databases we set up copies every few hours.
How long does it take to restore if something is lost?
An individual file is recovered in minutes. A full server depends on the volume, but that time is defined with you in the continuity plan so there are no surprises.
